Trinity College Students receive State Science Awards
On Sunday 4th of March
three students, (and their teachers and parents) from Trinity College Secondary, attended a Tasmanian Science Talent Search award afternoon at UTAS in Launceston.
All three students presented work in the Creative Writing Section.
Two students worked on an investigation following the Japanese tsunami and the nuclear waste disaster, and wrote a poem titled “To whom it may concern”. The poem listed many scientifically named bacteria which could be used to break down radioactive waste. It received a Merit Award.
Another wrote a creative poem on Carbon Nanotubes, an elevator to the moon, titled “Carbon is…” and received a 1st Prize in the Intermediate section.
Well done to the students for their excellent work!
