Art installation at the Chalet – coming soon.
Just a few weeks back we had the team from “10 days on the Island” come and visit us to inspect the site for one of the six Art installations during that time, that will be on display around Tasmania.
Its pretty exciting for us as a village, as we prepare to have one of the artworks here, and many people will come to view it on display in the wonderful dining room of the Chalet.
Pictured here is the artist, Jacob Leary (in the green shirt) and a team from “10 days on the Island” , supporting him and putting a huge amount of work into organising the whole project “In TEERS” (TEERS stands for the Tamar and Esk Estuary RIver System” and all the artworks are in some way about the water system in this part of Tassie)
The actual display will be in the Poatina Chalet, Gordon Street from 20 March – till 3 April.
Next Tuesday 22nd February, 7:30 – 9:00 in the chapel, Gordon Street Poatina – is an “Arts made easy” workshop, to explain more about the project, and have some fun learning about why Arts have such a great impact on our communities. (see poster below) – guaranteed to be well worth the time.
There you will meet Jane Deeth who will be leading the evening. (A freelance art ad interpretation consultant working from Launceston, Tasmania. She is also visual arts coordinator for Ten Days on the Island, Tasmania’s international arts festival. Having completed her MA Art Administration at the College of Fine Arts, Sydney.)
CLICK HERE and read more at this link about the artist and the whole project. We feel very privileged to be part of such a huge Tasmanian art event!
If you would like to attend the Poatina workshop on Tuesday 22nd February, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Come and visit during that time and we are sure you will not be disappointed.
